The Procession has had to be postponed until further notice.

Pray to End Abortion

The Pro Life Procession incorporates prayer and action to end abortion. We pray for the unborn, their parents and abortuary workers.

The procession begins with Mass at 6.30am at St Brigid’s Catholic Church, 78 Musgrave Road, Red Hill. We then drive to the Roma St Parkland - College Close Car Park.

At 7.30am we process through the Parkland, a beautiful and tranquil location, to the abortuary at 383 Wickham Tce, praying the rosary as we walk. We spend between 10 and 20 minutes praying on the footpath opposite the abortuary.

The procession re-enters the parkland to the playground area where we enjoy morning tea and the children have a play.

The Gospel of Life

Blessed Pope John Paul II released Evangelium Vitae (The Gospel of Life) in 1995. This encyclical affirmed the unique dignity of the human person, made in the image and likeness of God. John Paul II warned of the advancing "Culture of Death" and the multifarious threats to human life that it entailed. In contrast he promoted the building of the "Civilisation of Love" where human life, from conception to natural death, was duly respected, valued and protected.

Our intention is to make the procession as family friendly as possible to enable people of all ages to participate. We especially welcome families with young children. The whole route is accessible with a pram.

A Reflection

"We attended our first Pro Life Procession (rain, storm & shine) as a family, and experienced God's abundant gift of new life in the beautiful families on the procession and in the environment we walked through.

From the misty entrance of Roma St Parkland, to the children's amazement at all the lizards running around, the smelling of flowers, families serving each other, home made scones, and the prayerful meditation of the Rosary - life was being shared and lived.

Our family can now think of no better way to spend the third Saturday of each month."
